Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Edwin Donnelly can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

His final patrol

It was with great sadness that I found the obit of a fellow Sentry Dog Handler. I visited Ed a few years back in Renfrew and knew he was not in good health at that time. Ed and I served as Dog Handlers in Zweibrueken, 3 Fighter Wing, Germany in the late 1960's.  He had prior RCN service and once told me he was the only Canadian wounded in the 1962 Cuban Missle Crisis. He was on board a Canadian naval ship when the ship quickly changed course and and the pop machine slid and cut his shoulder.

Ed was truly a great Dog Handler and a unique person. He will be misseed and remembered.
