The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Patrick Barr can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Susan Slack Miller
Condolence: To My Dear Aunt Sheila, my cousins Matthew, Joanne, Peter, and their respective partners, children, and grandchildren:

Our Uncle Bert remains a vital part of the incredibly memorable holidays spent at Uncle Bob and Aunt Nonie's cottage. Every year, we celebrated my birthday among our family and extended family and friends.

I also remember the fantastic visits to your home in Ottawa, and the fun we had exploring and building forts. I remember watching Poltergeist in your basement!

One of my favourite Easter memories is when all of you visited us in Mississauga...and it was so hot we pulled the kiddie pool out. Your father remains part of these wonderful childhood memories.

In later years, I remember Uncle Bert and Aunt Sheila visiting my parent's in Milton. There was always a visit to the Mohawk Raceway, followed by incredible conversation on the front porch or back deck.

Uncle Bert was funny and sharp...with a very dry and quick wit. He was welcoming, warm, and an example of an excellent partner to our Aunt Sheila. I loved seeing them together, and witnessing their true admiration for one another, and a lasting partnership filled with love.

All of you remain in my current thoughts, daily prayers, and lifelong memories. I am praying that you will be filled with the peace that passes all understanding, as the Bible promises; and that you will be comforted by the Holy Spirit.

I believe that Bert's love for all of you will become abundantly clear as the days follow. Wonderful memories of family togetherness will flow back to you...embrace it and love each other...

Love always,
Susan
