THOMAS, Isabella Mary B. (nee Hannan) - (Long-time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Deep River and recently Our Lady of Lourdes, Pembroke. A Deep River resident since 1946) - The family of Isabel Thomas regret to announce her death on 23 March, just weeks before her 99th Birthday. Her youngest son, Neal, was present when she passed away peacefully in the Pembroke Hospital. Widow of “Holly” Thomas, Isabel was the mother of eleven boys: Roy (Jane) Nepean, Michael (Christine) Bracknell, U.K., John (Juanita) Kamloops, Paul (Carole) Toronto, Gerry (Carol) Mattawa, Stephen deceased, Ian Mississauga, Martin (Nancy) Calgary, Peter Calgary, Chris (Kirsti) Whitecourt and Neal (Sharon) Petawawa. She was “Granny” or “Grannie” to twenty grandchildren: Michael, Megan, Sean, Rob, Owen, Brad, Christopher, Greg, Isabel deceased, Peter, Michelle, Kiley, Michelle, Libby, Ian, Jamie, Hayley, Lee, William and Catherine. Isabel was “Great” Grandmother or Granny to sixteen great grandchildren James, Susie, Graeme, Eileen, Abigail, Hannan, Jonny, Kael, Gabe, Amelia, Anneke, Rourk, Josie, Arthur, Hugh and Gisele. She was the last survivor of the Frank and Mary Hannan line and the only one to be born in Canada. Isabel always said that “they take good care of us” at Riverview Heights. Thank you to the staff there. Visitation at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Deep River on Thursday, March 31st, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment Community Cemetery, Deep River. Arrangements by the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella St., Pembroke,. Isabel had two brothers who were Jesuits so memorial donations can be made to the Jesuit Development Office at www.jesuits.ca.
