Obituary for Ashley Colette Fortier

Ashley Colette Fortier
FORTIER, Ashley Colette - October 28, 1988 - December 15, 2015 - Ashley passed away peacefully in her mother's arms on Tuesday, December 15th in Ottawa. She is survived by her loving parents Claude and Kathy Fortier, many foster brothers and sisters whom Ashley considered as her very own siblings, her grandparents Hervé and Shirley Fortier, Jerry Kenelly and Diane Miele. Ashley is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins who cherished her dearly. Ashley had a zest for life which permeated in everything she did and said. She enjoyed many summers at various camps (Northwood, Merriwood) where she made lots of friends with whom she could relate. She cherished moments spent on the phone with "Pampa" and "Gramma" Fortier and loved chatting on social media with family and friends. With Ashley, the little things in life brought her great joy. From a very young age, Ashley loved the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior and relied heavily on Him for strength throughout all of her physical struggles. Ashley always remained brave when faced with various afflictions that most people could never fully appreciate. She overcame these many challenges with positivity, a good sense of humor and a bright smile. All who loved her deeply will miss Ashley's beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes. Remembrance donations can be made to Northland Bible Camp. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:45 am on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 followed by funeral service at 12:00 pm at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
