Obituary for Eithne Wilkie (Duggan)

Eithne  Wilkie (Duggan)
WILKIE, Eithne - Entered peacefully into her Eternal Home on July 13, 2015 at the St. Joseph Convent Nursing Care Centre. Wife of the late Wilf Wilkie of Deep River, Eithne was born in O’Brien’s Bridge, County Clare, Ireland, the oldest child of the late William A. and Nora (Miller) Duggan. She is lovingly missed by her brother Fr. Colum Duggan (Holy Ghost Fathers of Ireland) and her sisters Mary Vaughan, and Fidelma Duggan of Limerick, Ireland. She is predeceased by her sisters Sheila O’Connell, Noreen O'Connor, Sr. Philomena (Sisters of Mercy of Templemore) and her brother Gerard Duggan. She will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Eithne’s life was lived out as a teacher in Catholic Education beginning in Ireland, then in London, ON and finishing in Deep River at St. Mary’s Catholic School. Her wake and funeral mass will take place at the Sisters of St. Joseph Chapel, 1127 Pembroke St. West, Pembroke ON. Wake: July 15th, 2015 from 9:45 to 10:45 am followed by her funeral mass at 11 am. In memory of Eithne’s love and support for the missions throughout her life, donations can be made to the Peruvian Missions of the Sisters of St. Joseph. A very special thank you to the Sisters of St. Joseph and to their caring and compassionate nursing staff who made Eithne’s final days so peaceful.
