A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON, died in Pembroke, Ontario on the 14th day of May 2008 in the 78th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, nieces, Ethel Hynes, Ellen Kavenaugh, Rosalie Ledwell, other devoted nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, Peter and Irene (Carew), brothers, Henry, Stephen and Arthur, sisters, Mary and Esther. Kathleen was born on November 1910, in St. John's, Nfld. She entered the Community on September 25th, 1930, pronouncing final vows on July 17th, 1936. Her ministry involved various duties, including, sacristy and food services, caring for residents at St. Patrick's Home, Ottawa, assignments at the Seminary, Ladner, B.C. and at Assumption Convent, Vanier, where she served for a total of thirty-four years. In prayerful acceptance and peace, she lived her final years at Shalom Residence, Pembroke. Resting at Caritas Residence, 215 Deacon Street, Pembroke, Ontario, on Friday, May 16th, 2008, from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Evening Prayer at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy, at Caritas Residence, on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Columba's Cemetery, Pembroke.
